Rhys is an admitted lawyer and registered patent and trade marks attorney. He is a partner of FAL Lawyers.
Rhys brings 15 years’ experience in patent law and applies his technical background in process engineering to assist clients in as diverse areas as biomedical and diagnostic devices, energy systems and construction technologies.
Previously, he was a Hearings Officer and Senior Examiner of Patents at the Australian Patent Office, granting him inside knowledge of patent: filing, prosecution, and opposition processes in Australia.
He is well versed in patentability opinion work and has extensive expertise in patent opposition procedures and has significant experience managing the patent portfolios of listed companies and commonwealth-funded research institutes alike.
Additionally, as an Australian lawyer practicing in technology commercialisation, Rhys brings a flexible, practical approach to protecting the IP assets of his clients and works with them to realise value throughout the commercialisation process.
