FAL Partner wins ILO Health & Life Sciences Award for the Second Year Running

We are delighted to announce that FAL’s founding partner, Jenni Lightowlers, has been recognised for Excellence in Client Service in the Health and Life Sciences at the 2016 International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology Client Choice Awards. This is the second year running Jenni has won the award.

The Lexology Client Choice Awards recognise those partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client service they provide. The criteria for the awards focus on the ability to add real value to clients’ business above and beyond other players in the market.

Nominated by clients, Jenni is considered a leading legal advisor to health-based Cooperative Research Centres. Her clients said:

Jenni invests significant time and energy in genuinely understanding our business and our market; she is an integral part of our strategic decision-making process and we trust her judgement in all legal matters unconditionally.”

Jenni is an absolute pleasure to work with. I would rate her as not only the best lawyer to work with, but also the best professional.

Jenni recently acted for Cancer Therapeutics CRC (CTx), a collaborative partnership of leading Research Institutes, universities and biotechnology companies that translates Australia’s innovative research discoveries into new cancer drugs for clinical development. Jenni worked with the CTx team to successfully negotiate the licence of CTx developed technology into MSD (known as Merck in USA and Canada) along with a research agreement for ongoing work in Australia, leveraging cutting edge Australian research developed by Australian scientists.

FAL’s practitioners have a wealth of experience as both in-house and external counsel to commercialisation companies and government agencies. FAL lawyers act as board members of listed healthcare companies and Universities, and have appeared on behalf of funded research bodies before Commonwealth parliamentary committees.

FAL has a unique understanding of the commercial, legal, political and regulatory issues affecting organisations in the healthcare and health sciences sectors, negotiating complex multi-party agreements and helping our clients achieve their commercial objectives.
